The Field
"Out Beyond the Ideas of Wrong doing and Right doing,
There is a field;
I will meet you there."

There is a field;
I will meet you there."

Our work with horses, out in a field or arena, outside in the air and elements, is a break from our norm. It is a place of self reflection, joy, compassion, clarity, and understanding. In this style, by understanding the horse and the nature of horses, we learn about balance in both body and mind. We learn how we can physically, mentally, and emotionally get out of the way of connection and find the part of the horse that is willing to work with us. In the field, we focus on empowering the horse-person to use the relationship to understand themselves more fully and engage in a healthy relationship. We look into bonding style, how to provide emotional support to our horse, and how to work with challenges that arise. We work on congruency, authenticity, problem-solving, and boundary making. We understand conflict, how to disagree, and the ways we can influence the horse, as well as the ways we can not. We stretch ourselves by working with the horse and asking them to be willing to work back. "You can only work with your horse as well as you can work with your own mind." -Kaia |
